Our prodigal son, St. Lucia, NYC's Black Light Dinner Party, and Aussies Gold Fields shine in the live slots and then tying it all together with a fluoro ribbon and neon bow it's Alex Fucking Metric bringing the club warfare in the DJ headline. POPSHOP021: WILLY MOON + ICONA POP

As the year comes to a close, we can't think of a better way to thank you for your ongoing support than by queueing up one of our biggest bills of the year for the final Popshop of 2012. In the live headline slot, we have London-based, Zealand-bred kid superstar, Willy Moon, whose debut anthem "Yeah Yeah" is currently going supernova on the back of that new iPod advert. Supporting him we've got NYC's Black Light Dinner Party bringing their dark electro charm to the mix and Cantora's favorite sons, Slam Donahue, kickstarting the night early. And if that wasn't enough, it's all going down as the official afterparty for Marina & The Diamonds' Terminal 5 show with Icona Pop earlier that night, with the lovely ladies of Icona gracing us with a headline DJ set after Monsieur Moon. The mystery dudes in NYC/Boston collective Black Light Dinner Party already impressed us earlier this year with their debut offering "Older Together", and now they're back with yet another eskimo-kissed tune for the coming winter (cue Game of Thrones theme). Their newest single "Gold Chain" sojourns into the white wilderness with a flurry of uplifting synth progressions and well-enunciated guitars that join forces in an all-out Avengers joint effort. Rounding out the mix are hopelessly romantic lyrics that would seem otherwise saccharine if not for the remarkably hooky melodies that carry them and the song to another level entirely. Black Light Dinner Party drape a neon gold necklace over you that grows brighter as each verse piles on glowing sentiment upon sentiment, and if grown-up playground love could be encapsulated in four minutes of pop nirvana, this would be the soundtrack.

We know next to nothing about Black Light Dinner Party, other than that they hail from Boston and are coming correct with more of the fresh electronic pop sounds we've come to expect from the Northeast in recent years thanks to bands like Passion Pit and Dom. You can hear shades of both in their sound, with emotive vocals reminiscent of Miike Snow and a top notch production sound - West Coast beats rolling along with frosty NYC synths and lush Parisian melodies - that truly establishes them as a band to watch this year.
