ALL THINGS GOLD 011: MYSTERY JETS

If ever we said All Things Gold couldn't possibly get anymore golden, we're now eating our words. This month, we've got none other than the reigning kings of UK indie, Mystery Jets, as they take a break from their current US tour supporting Keane to let loose on the U Hall stage in a special headline show. Not only are they one of our favorite bands of all time (and quite possibly our favorite UK band of the last decade), but they've got a brilliant new record out this month, so expect them to come through with no shortage of hits new and old. And just to ice the cake, we've got DC's favorite son Brenton Duvall keeping you moving early and late. It's all going down at U Street Music Hall at 10pm sharp, so cop your $7 advance tix HERE before it's too late.

ALL THINGS GOLD SXSW 2012.

The rumors are true, All Things Gold has officially gone national. This SXSW, we're teaming up with All Things Go once again to bring the rage to Austin with a slew of heavy-hitters such as the powerhouse Chiddy Bang, our almighty alum Penguin Prison, and America's best untapped new rock band, Walk the Moon. Warming up the soundstage, we've got PLAINS, Vacationer, our new favorites, Incan Abraham and our all-time favorite, Clock Opera. And rounding things out with DJ sets from Ghost Beach and Brenton Duvall, plus complimentary Redrum cocktails from 12pm-1pm, you'll want to get involved and RSVP now HERE. Just a warning: Chiddy Bang played to 3,000 people last SXSW and we've already had 1000+ RSVPs for this event, so if you don't want to get shut out of all the action, you'd be wise to come out EARLY. Like, mid-day early. Just don't say we didn't warn you.

ALL THINGS GOLD 006: THE KNOCKS

POPSHOP isn't back in full swing until next month (a thousand pardons), but to satisfy your January fix, our first event of the new year will be another edition of All Things Gold in our nation's capital. It's sure to be another blowout with The Knocks returning to U Street Music Hall to tear the roof off the place once again after selling it out in their first tango with All Things Gold last August. Plus, we've got the triumphant return of local hero Brenton Duvall on the ones and twos, plus Boston bright young things Magic Man opening things up. Not only was The Knocks' last DC show with us one of our biggest events to date with over 500+ tix sold, they'll also be unveiling fresh cuts from their just-released - and frankly brilliant - Magic EP, so this is definitely not to be missed. It's all going down this Thursday with festivities kicking off at 9pm sharp - $10 advance tickets are still available HERE but close to selling out, so move fast before it's too late.

XAPHOON JONES + BRENTON DUVALL AT BK BOWL.

Earlier this week we were all, "What's going on this weekend?" and realized we had no plans for Friday night, so we decided to throw a party at Brooklyn Bowl with two of our favorite DJs in the world, Xaphoon Jones and Brenton Duvall. Why? Because it's going to be amazing. And because we can. Tickets are $7 on the door or $5 in advance here. Get involved NYC, your Friday night just got awesome.

ALL THINGS GOLD 001: RAC + PENGUIN + REPTAR

Having spent much of our youth on the mean streets of DC, we've always wanted to give back to the city that reared us, so it's with great pleasure that we launch a new concert series in the nation's capital this month. Introducing ALL THINGS GOLD, a new regular club night brought to by yours truly and our brothers in arms at All Things Go, DC's preeminent new music site and some of the best tastemakers in the game. It's all kicking off July 21st at U Street Music Hall (one of our absolute favorite venues on the east coast) with a launch party for the ages, featuring live sets from Neon Gold favorites Reptar and Penguin Prison, plus DJ sets from hometown hero Brenton Duvall and remix legends RAC headlining the night on the decks. Doors open at 9pm, Heineken will be bringing the drink specials early and often, and tickets are only $8 in advance HERE. Set times and mp3s below, WE GOT YOU DC.

PICTURE MY PROPHECY.

We're endlessly proud of our DC (via London) heritage, so there's little that makes us happier than hearing fresh new noise coming out of the Chocolate City, an area vastly underrepresented in the nation's music scene in recent years. So it's with great pleasure that we introduce you to newcomer Brenton Duvall, an 18 year old production sensation representing hard for the DMV that reminds us of a young Xaphoon Jones, with his wise-beyond-his-years production savvy and a keen ear for mashups that flow so naturally it's hard to believe they weren't originally conceived by the artists involved that way. Here's a fresh double-drop intro to Duvall's work, featuring the amazing "Against A Mad World" - which finds Tupac getting mixed up with Gary Jules over an ominous original beat from Duvall - and "Ambien", on which Lil' Wayne and Trina get tripped up over a stripped back version of Passion Pit's "Sleepyhead".
