Since the release of Flight Facilities' show-stopping debut single "Crave You" in 2010, Australia's sky captains of tomorrow have racking up frequent flier miles and shutting down clubs across the globe with their world class brand of high-flying disco. They've already graced our Popshop stage with stunning results last April, so we're very excited to be doing it all over again with our promo partners-in-crime Popgun at Le Poisson Rouge next Wednesday the 27th. Sharing the spotlight is Vampire Weekend's BAIO and our very own Popshop partystarter Friendly Greg, with doors at 10pm and $15 advance tickets available HERE. After three massive showcases at SXSW last week, we've got full-blown festival fever and we just can't seem to shake it. So much like last year's CMJ blowout, April's Popshop boasts a double-decker lineup of the very best new acts from around the world. In the DJ headline slot, we have none other than the legendary sky captains of tomorrow, Flight Facilities, accompanied by the very lovely Jess Higgs on live vocals. Immediately preceding them on the live stage will be the French electro maven himself Yuksek, making his NYC headline debut with a powered up three-piece live band (preview below). And as if all that wasn't enough, we've got Israel-via-London pop outfit, Tiger Love, kicking things off early and Aussie powerhouse '96 Bulls manning the upper decks late night.

Downstairs in the Pleasure Treasure room, you'll find club maestro Mighty Mouse holding it down with our Power Slug residents Headband and Hooligan until the early morn. Oh yeah, and there's also an open Bomb Lager bar for the first hour, just to guarantee a proper night of mayhem. It's all popping off on Thursday, April 5th, at Santos Party House. Since making their Manhattan debut at Popshop last March, Friends have well and truly blown up on both sides of the Atlantic, and they continue their ascension to the stars on a much-needed re-release of debut 7" "Friend Crush" this month. The single already won over our hearts and minds the first time around, and the remix package highlight from Leo Zero is the golden ticket to disco salvation, when the fever grabs hold of you with the vice-like grip of young love. As she sways and seduces, frontwoman Samantha Urbani holds out her hand and you just can't help but take it, as Monsieur Zero takes us deep into another disco galaxy. It's like the Flight Facilities remix that never was, all resplendent synths and groove train basslines, and it's available for free below from our dear friends at Lucky Number Music.
