POPSHOP BK x BEMF: BODY LANGUAGE

It's that time of year again, as the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival prepares to take Brooklyn by storm this weekend, and we're thrilled to be a part of it this time around. Saturday night we're teaming up with the BEMF to bring you a post-apocalyptic blowout/bowlout as we present the festival's Popshop stage at Brooklyn Bowl with local party heroes Body Language and Hussle Club in the spot. It's all going down at Brooklyn Bowl with doors at 11:30pm and advance tickets now available HERE.

POPSHOP RADIO 017

Just in time for tomorrow night's Santos Party House throwdown, it's time to welcome back our old friend Popshop Radio, now coming to you courtesy of our recently-crowned resident Popshop DJ Friendly Greg. With the perfect mix of choice cuts from the stars of tomorrow night's lineup - most notably Danger's still-flawless electro classic "11h30" - and a healthy dose of summery heaters from Neon Gold all stars past and present (Penguin Prison? Check. Marina? Check. The Knocks and St. Lucia? Check check.), it's got everything you need to get you in the mood and then some for tomorrow night's festivities. The last few have sold out hard and this is shaping up to do the same, so cop your $10 advance tix HERE while they last.

POPSHOP017: DANGER + BODY LANGUAGE

Last month's Popshop was another sold out classic and the stuff of legend, but next month's lineup is quite literally a dream come true. Yes, the rumors are true, we've got French electro heavyweight Danger - presumed missing since the great electrowars of 2007-2008 - as he makes his triumphant return to New York with a brand new, never-before-seen live show. We don't know where he's been hiding these past few years, but we do know that he threw down one of the most amazing shows we've ever seen when he obliterated Berlin in 2008, and we've been dreaming of having him on the Neon Gold stage ever since. And as if that wasn't enough, we've got our favorite Brooklyn partystarters Body Language tearing the roof off the place live, plus Boston synth radicals Carousel getting things started early and our main man Xaphoon Jones keeping it going late. Yeah, it's gonna be a large night. Santo's Party Mansion. Thursday, June 7th. 9pm SHARP. Tickets HERE.

ALL THINGS GOLD 004: THE HOOD INTERNET

So after taking October off to focus on all things CMJ, we're back in the game with All Things Go to bring another massive ALL THINGS GOLD blowout to DC next month. U Street Music Hall is still picking up the pieces from September's installment when Russ Chimes and Starsmith reduced it to smoldering ash with two of the biggest sets we've ever witnessed, and this time we're back with another massive headlining DJ set from the world wide web's finest, The Hood Internet. Then supporting live we've got our favorite Brooklyn partystarters Body Language - who absolutely killed it at Popshop 006 last June - and the much anticipated US debut (!!!) of our latest international additions to the Neon Gold family, Polarsets.

Having witnessed blindingly brilliant shows from both bands in the last six months we can assure you this won't be one to miss, and with The Hood Internet in the mix too - not to mention our resident decks master Lightwaves opening things up - this could well be the biggest one yet. As per usual, advance tickets are available HERE for $10 or $13 day of show. Do the right thing.

POPSHOP006: KEEPAWAY + BODY LANGUAGE

Can't stop, won't stop, never get enough. This whole Popshop thing has been going pretty damn well, but still we just can't keep ourselves from sweetening the deal each month. So not only are we expanding the lineup to four bands, we've also got an amazing open bar deal for complimentary Absolut from 8pm-9pm. If you're like us you'll have drunk your way through your ticket price's worth of free dranx by the time that's even halfway done, so come out early and get your drink on Thursday June 2nd for the next installment of our beloved club night.

Then kicking things off at 9pm we've got Brooklyn's Living Days (who we introduced you to yesterday), followed by SXSW hype magnet and electro darling Computer Magic, our favorite Bk partystarters Body Language and the absolutely incredible Keepaway headlining, who just might be the best new live band in the city. Then keeping you dancing from 1am til late will be world renowned Chiddy Bang beatmaker and all around legend Xaphoon Jones killing it on the decks until the early hours. Advance tickets available HERE, set times and mp3s below:

CMJ 2010 // NEW SHAPES 2.0

It's that time again, as we make our way towards mid-October and the collective gaze of the music industry falls upon CMJ and all the beautiful chaos that comes with it. Last year we brought you the first annual New Shapes party, which saw everyone from Theophilus London and Darwin Deez to Chief and Local Natives grace the stage at Santos Party House. This year we're going even bigger with it, moving to the wide open spaces of Brooklyn and the multiple stages of Public Assembly, and it's finally time to bring the curtain back on what's easily the biggest event we've ever been a part of.

Chess Club are once again our partners in promotional crime for this event, and we've also teamed up with the UK's Plugged In PR to help us bring you one of the best and brightest line ups on offer at CMJ this year. It's all going down at Public Assembly on Thursday the 21st of October, from 3pm to 3am, with two stages and over 20 amazing new bands playing over the course of the evening. Below you'll find the full line up and schedule for the night, complete with mp3s so you can sample the artists on the menu for the evening. Tickets are currently on sale via the event page HERE, and at only $12 a pop that's a hell of a bang for your buck so you'd do well to move quickly and reserve your ticket today. And as this is an official CMJ event, we will also be opening the door to a limited number of CMJ badge holders, but as space is limited you'd be wise to arrive early to ensure entry.
